Description: The Owhango Post Office was built in 1919 and still in good condition. It was used as the postal and social centre of Owhango, with counter mail service, telephone exchange and supply of the usual postal requirements. Unfortunately due to restructuring of NZ Post, it was closed in 1989, the little community then being "serviced" just by community mail boxes. The building is now homestyle accommodation.
