Description: Part of a cast-iron gate at the Cascade Dining Room of Timberline Lodge, built and furnished by Works Progress Administration laborers and artists during the Great Depression on the slopes of Mount Hood, Oregon Crafted by ironworker Orion B. Dawson, the Cascade Dining Room gates were designed by architect Dean Wright and Oregon's Federal Art Project administrator Margery Hoffman Smith, drawing on Native American motifs.
