Description: Tower of Ferns Castle, Co. Wexford Ferns is an ancient royal and episcopal city, formerly capital of the Kingdom of Leinster. The castle is Anglo-Norman, of the 12C or 13C. One of the round towers is relatively intact and has inside a 13C chapel. The tower in the picture, however, is in a somewhat perilous state.
