Description: This is the site of the Town Gate and fortifications on Boston Neck. This view is from East Berkeley Street. Washington Street is still a main road into Boston (out of the photo on the right). This section of Washington Street was formerly called Orange Street in colonial times. The old Dover Street elevated station once stood at this location. Photo taken January, 2007.
