Description: Progress proof (essay) for 100 silver pesos (1936) prepared by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) for the República de Cuba depicting Francisco Vicente Aguilera. Engraved signatures of Wolter del Rio (Secretario de Hacienda) and Máximo Gómez (Presidente de la República). The United States BEP prepared and issued Cuban silver certificates (Certificados de Plata) in seven series (1934, 1936, 1936A, 1938, 1943, 1945, and 1948), each series marking a change the authorizing signatures of either the Cuban Secretary of the Treasury (Secretario de Hacienda) or the President (Presidente de la República).
