Description: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Jan. 12, 2007) - Musician 3rd Class Cassy DeMoss of the Pacific Fleet Band performs at the decommissioning ceremony for the rescue and salvage ship USS Salvor (ARS 52). Designed to salvage stranded vessels, rescue and assistance, recovery of submerged objects and manned diving operations, USS Salvor was commissioned June 14, 1986, and first arrived in Pearl Harbor, Nov. 1, that same year. Most recently, Salvor returned from a scheduled five-month deployment to Southeast Asia in support of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Exercise 2006. The ship was transferred to the Military Sealift Command (MSC) upon decommissioning and will be manned by MSC civil service mariners and is now USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52).
