Description: On verso of image: Chena, Alaska, 1907 Filed in Alaska--Cities--Chena Chena was located on the north bank of the Tanana River, 1 mile west of the mouth of the Chena River and 7 miles southwest of Fairbanks. The name was derived from the Chena River and was first reported in 1903. The village was called Chena Junction because it was the south teminus of the Tanana Valley Railroad; however, it was incorporated as Chena in 1903.
