Description: The Viking 5C Rocket Engine. The engine was designed and manufactured by six countries: France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Sweden and Italy. It was used in first stage of Ariane 4 from 1990 to 2003. Picture taken at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, Virginia, USA. Length: 2.87 m (9 ft 5 in). Weight: 399 Kg (880 lb). Thrust: 760700 N (171500 lb) Propellants: Nitrogen tetroxide & unsymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine (UDMH). Manufacturer: SNECMA for the European Space Agency.
