Description: Photograph of the derailed Virgin Pendolino unit 390 033 "City of Glasgow" after the Grayrigg derailment. It was formally written off on 30th November 2007, 9 months and one week after the derailment. Undamaged cars became used at Crewe training centre. One passenger was fatally injured in the derailment. Until October 2014 a non-leaning, slower train with superficially similar profile, hence nicknamed a pretendolino, was upholstered in Virgin livery and ran weekly in this locomotive's stead.
