Description: Postcard of Walp's Restaurant (1940s) in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Built before World War II on Tilghman Street when it was still designated as US 22. The restaurant was family-owned and welcomed thousands of families celebrating milestone birthdays and anniversaries and toasting newlyweds at wedding receptions, high school reunions and other occasions. Many local and out-of-town celebrities dined at the restaurants. Purchased by Rite-Aid and closed day after Thanksgiving in 1998. Building torn down about 2002 and was replaced by super-pumper convenience store.
