Description: The Supervision, a handheld gaming console manufactured by Taiwanese gaming company Watara and distributed in the US by Goldnation. Released in the US in 1992, it was a low-cost competitor to the Nintendo Game Boy, from which it heavily borrowed its design. The Supervision's advertising focused on its large 160x160 pixel, 4-color display that could tilt. The handheld came packaged with 4 AAs, earbud headphones and the game Crystball, a Breakout clone, for $49.95. The Supervision had a small library of games made primarily by Taiwan and Hong Kong developers, lacking support or interest from third-party developers. The simple and unremarkable games that were released for it were sold from $8.95 to $14.95, much cheaper than Game Boy games. This budget system failed to make a presence in American or international markets and shortly faded away.
