Description: This is the old Westchester Avenue station in the Bronx. That's the #6 Pelham Subway line overhead where Whitlock & Westchester Avenues meet. The platforms have long since been removed, only the stationhouse at street level remains & it's in dyre need of restoration/repairs. This is one of many photos taken from the back of an Amtrak regional train on a trip from New Haven Connecticut to Washington DC. Amtrak personnel were gracious to tolerate my photo taking and helped out as they could w/o violating any safety regulations.
