Description: Young giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), nurtured in the town of Big Pine, California. Planted in 1913 to commemorate the opening of Westgaard Pass to autos. In Owens Valley at the corner of US395 and CA168, which leads to Westgaard Pass and the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains of California and Nevada.
