Sarpong Siriboe Boateng (born October 14, 1976), known by his stage name Joey the Jerk, is an American Christian hip hop musician. He was also known as Joey Lawrence and Joey's Dream earlier in his career. Joey the Jerk is a singer and songwriter. He has released two studio albums: Average Joe in 2003 and Catch Me if You Can in 2015. He started his music journey as a founding member of the Christian hip hop group LA Symphony.

Joey the Jerk was born Sarpong Siriboe Boateng on October 14, 1976. His birthplace was Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Paramount, California. His parents are Kofi Sr. and Phyllis Boateng. He has an older brother, Agyeman, a younger brother, Kofi Jr., and a younger sister, Amber.
Music Career Highlights
Joey the Jerk began his music career in 1997. He started with the rap group LA Symphony. For some time in the early 2010s, he used the name Joey's Dream.
His first studio album, Average Joe, came out in 2003. Later, he released an extended play (EP) called Mold Me. This EP was released by Illect Records on August 23, 2011. His second studio album, Catch Me if You Can, was released on September 25, 2015.
