Leader Dog facts for kids

Leader Dog is a fun animated TV show that aired on Nicktoons. This short series was created by Larry Schwarz and first appeared on April 18, 2004. Each episode is very short, usually lasting only one to three minutes.

The show tells the story of a clever dog who is mistakenly taken by aliens from a planet called Zmed. These aliens are looking for Earth's leader, the one everyone follows.

The Story of Leader Dog

A Dog Becomes a Leader

The aliens, named Dave and Blark, arrive on Earth at a very busy moment. They see a talking dog trying to escape from a high-security animal shelter. Many dogcatchers are chasing the dog. Dave and Blark think this dog must be Earth's most important leader because so many people are following him.

They quickly capture the dog and take him back to Planet Zmed. The people of Zmed then make him their new leader. From that moment on, he is known as "Leader Dog."

Life on Planet Zmed

The main idea of the show is how Leader Dog teaches the people of Zmed about life on Earth. But since he is a dog, he mostly shows them what he and other dogs do. This leads to many funny situations as the aliens try to understand dog behaviors.

Meet the Characters

The show has a small but memorable cast of characters. Each one plays a special role in Leader Dog's adventures on Planet Zmed.

• Leader Dog (voiced by Larry Schwarz): He is the main character, a spunky and clever dog. He accidentally becomes the leader of Planet Zmed.
• King Adrian: He is the king of Planet Zmed. King Adrian really likes Leader Dog and enjoys his unique ways.
• Prince Guz: He is King Adrian's son. Prince Guz is a spoiled young prince who does not like Leader Dog at all. He often tries to take over Leader Dog's position.
• Dave and Blark: These are the two alien explorers who found Leader Dog. Dave is usually serious, while Blark is more funny and cheerful. They are the ones who brought Leader Dog to Planet Zmed.
