Lee Bee Wah, also known as Huajie (meaning "Sister Flower"), is a former politician and engineer from Singapore. She was born on October 6, 1960. She was a member of the People's Action Party (PAP), which is the ruling political party in Singapore. She served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for different areas in Singapore for many years.

Early Life and Education
Lee Bee Wah was born in Batu Pahat, Johor, Malaysia. She grew up in Malacca. She is the oldest of seven children. Her parents worked as rubber tappers.
School Days
She went to Kiow Min Chinese Primary School. Later, she studied at Sekolah Dato' Dol Said, Notre Dame Convent, and Gajah Berang.
University Studies
Lee Bee Wah attended the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a short time. Then, she went to Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She earned a degree in civil engineering in 1985. After that, she continued her studies at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. There, she received a Master of Science degree in engineering in 1990.
Supporting Her University
Lee Bee Wah was very dedicated to NTU. She helped start a special fund called the Class of 1985 Pioneer Fund. This fund raised a lot of money to support academic programs. She also served as the President of the NTU Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni Association for many years. She received awards from NTU for her service and achievements. In 2011, the University of Liverpool also gave her an honorary doctorate degree.
Career Journey
Lee Bee Wah has had a busy career as both an engineer and a politician. She also led the Singapore Table Tennis Association for several years.
Engineering Work
As an engineer, Lee Bee Wah started her own company, LBW Consultants LLP, in 1996. Later, in 2014, a big engineering company called Meinhardt Group bought her firm. She became a group director there. Before entering politics, she also worked as a senior engineer at ST Construction and an assistant project manager at Wing Tai. She was also the president of the Institution of Engineers Singapore from 2008 to 2010. In 2020, she stopped her engineering practice. She now chairs the school advisory committee for Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU.
Political Role
Lee Bee Wah was a Member of Parliament (MP) for 14 years. She represented the Ang Mo Kio GRC from 2006 to 2011. Then, she represented the Nee Soon South division of Nee Soon GRC from 2011 to 2020. As an MP, she worked on issues related to national development, the environment, and water resources.
During her time as an MP, she sometimes faced public feedback regarding community issues. For example, she spoke about challenges related to community cat feeding in her area. She also shared a story in Parliament that led to online discussions about being grateful for what the government does. In June 2020, Lee Bee Wah announced that she would retire from politics. She did not run in the general election that year.
Business Ventures
After retiring from politics, Lee Bee Wah joined a real estate company called Heeton Holdings in 2022. She became an independent non-executive director there.
