Lee Bee Wah (Chinese: 李美花; pinyin: Lǐ Měihuā; born 6 October 1960), also known as Huajie (Chinese: 花姐; pinyin: Huājiě; lit. 'Sister Flower'), is a Singaporean former politician and engineer. She was born in Malaysia. As a member of the People's Action Party (PAP), she served as a Member of Parliament (MP). She represented the Nee Soon South area of Nee Soon GRC from 2011 to 2020. Before that, she represented Ang Mo Kio GRC from 2006 to 2011.

Early Life and Family
Lee Bee Wah was born on 6 October 1960. Her birthplace was Batu Pahat, Johor, which is in Malaysia. She grew up in Malacca. She is the oldest of seven children in her family. Her parents worked as rubber tappers, collecting rubber from trees.
Education Journey
Lee Bee Wah started her schooling at Kiow Min Chinese Primary School. She then attended Sekolah Dato' Dol Said, Notre Dame Convent, and Gajah Berang.
She studied at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a short time. Later, she went to Nanyang Technological University (NTU). In 1985, she earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering. This means she learned how to design and build things like roads and bridges.
From 1989 to 1990, she studied at the University of Liverpool. There, she earned a Master of Science degree in engineering.
Her university, NTU, described her as a "passionate" former student. She helped start a fundraising program called the Class of 1985 Pioneer Fund. This fund raised a lot of money for student awards. From 1997 to 2008, she was the President of the NTU Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni Association. She received several awards from NTU for her service. In 2006, the Cambodian Government also gave her a special medal. In 2011, the University of Liverpool gave her an honorary doctorate degree.
Engineering Career
Lee Bee Wah is trained as an engineer. In 1996, she started her own company, LBW Consultants LLP. This company was bought by a larger engineering firm, Meinhardt Group, in 2014. She now works as a group director there.
Before becoming a politician, she was a senior engineer at ST Construction. She also worked as an assistant project manager at Wing Tai. From 2008 to 2010, she was the president of the Institution of Engineers Singapore. She also served on the boards of other companies.
In 2020, Lee Bee Wah stopped her engineering practice. She became the chair of the school advisory committee for the Nanyang Technological University School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Political Career
Lee Bee Wah served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for several years. She represented Ang Mo Kio GRC from 2006 to 2011. Then, she represented Nee Soon GRC from 2011 to 2020. She was also the chairman of important committees in Parliament. These committees focused on national development, and the environment and water resources.
In 2015, her engineering firm, LBW Consultants LLP, won contracts to provide services for housing projects in her own Nee Soon South ward. This meant her company was working on projects in the area she represented as an MP.
In June 2020, Lee Bee Wah announced that she would retire from politics. She did not run in the 2020 Singaporean general election.
Personal Life
Lee Bee Wah is married and has two children. She follows the Buddhist faith.
