Nadia's Early Life and School Days
Nadia Mukami was born in Nairobi, Kenya, on November 9, 1996. She went to Kari Mwailu Primary School. After that, she attended Mount Laverna School in Kasarani, Nairobi. Later, Nadia studied at Maseno University. There, she earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance.
Nadia's Music Journey
Starting Her Music Career
Nadia wrote and recorded her very first song, "Barua Ya Siri," in 2015. Her second song, "Kesi," came out in 2017. This song became quite popular. It helped her get invited to perform at big music events. These included the Blaze The Nile Festival and The Luo Festival.
Breakthrough with "Radio Love"
In February 2019, Nadia released a song called "Radio Love." It featured another artist named Arrow Bwoy. This song was a huge success for her. It got a lot of attention from Kenyan media. Many radio and TV stations in the area played it often.
Later in 2019, Nadia decided to leave her management team, Hailemind Entertainment. That same year, "Radio Love" won two awards at the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA). Nadia also represented Kenya at Coke Studio Africa in 2019. This was a big achievement for her.
New Music and Collaborations
In early 2020, Nadia released "Nitekenye." This song featured a Kenyan music group called "Sailors." Her first major music collection, an EP, was released in October 2020. The main song from this EP was "Jipe," featuring Tanzanian singer Marioo. It came out in March 2020.
The African Popstar EP included many famous artists. These were Khaligraph Jones, Maua Sama, Fena Gitu, DJ Joe Mfalme, Sanaipei Tande, Orezi from Nigeria, Tamy Moyo from Zimbabwe, and Lioness Nam from Namibia. Nadia was also nominated for the HiPipo awards in 2020.
In 2021, Nadia received her first nomination for the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA). This showed her growing popularity across Africa.
"Bundle of Joy" EP
In 2022, Nadia Mukami released a new EP called "Bundle of Joy." It had four songs. This project featured artists like Iyanii, Latinoh, and her partner Arrow Bwoy. Nadia shared that she worked on this music collection throughout her pregnancy. She said it was her favorite piece of art.
Winning International Awards
In September 2023, Nadia Mukami won a big award. She was named Best Female Artist in East Africa. This award was given at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs).
