Sanat Naft Abadan Football Club is a football team from Abadan, Iran. Their full name in Persian means "Sanat Naft Abadan Sports and Cultural Institute". The team is often called "Iran's Brazil" or "Yellow Dragon" because of their yellow and blue colors, like the Brazilian national team.
Sanat Naft is sponsored by Iran's national oil industry. They are part of a bigger sports club called Sanat Naft Athletic Club. The team currently plays in the Azadegan League. They moved down to this league after the 2023–2024 season in the Persian Gulf Pro League. Even though they haven't won many big titles, the people of Abadan strongly support their team.

Club History
How the Club Started
Before 1972, people in Abadan loved two local football clubs: Kargar FC and Jam FC. Kargar was started by workers from the oil refinery in Abadan. Later, a famous football player named Parviz Dehdari and his friends created Jam FC.
In 1972, a new top football league called the Takhte Jamshid League began. The city of Abadan was given a spot in this league. The new club was to be run by Iran's oil industry. The team's first uniform colors were white, blue, and black.
Challenges and Changes
Football was very popular in Abadan. However, things changed a lot after the Iranian Revolution in 1978. Football became less important. Then, the Iran–Iraq War started in 1980, making things even harder.
Abadan was greatly affected by the war. The city's oil refinery closed, and many people had to leave. From 1980 to 1988, the Sanat Naft club moved to Shiraz. They had to start playing in a lower division, but they worked hard and made it back to the top league.
After the war ended, the club returned to Abadan. But because of the war's impact on the city and some problems with how the club was managed, Sanat Naft has not had much major success since then.
Playing in the Top Leagues
Sanat Naft played in the Azadegan League for a while. They were promoted to the top league, the Iran Pro League, in 2002. However, they were sent back down to the Azadegan League in the same season.
In 2010, the club was promoted to the Iran Pro League again. They finished ninth in their first year and tenth the next year. People had high hopes for them in the 2012–13 season. But the team finished 16th and was relegated back to the Azadegan League.
After a few years in the lower division, Sanat Naft made a big comeback in the 2015–16 season. They won their last game 2–1 against Fajr Sepasi. This win helped them return to the top league after three years.
