Serge Baguet (born August 18, 1969 – died February 9, 2017) was a professional road bicycle racer from Belgium. He was known for his strong comeback in cycling after taking a break from the sport.

Serge Baguet's Cycling Journey
Serge Baguet was the son of another cyclist, Roger Baguet. Serge was married to Sandra Rasschaert and they had a son named Sam.
Early Career and Comeback
Serge started his professional cycling career in 1991. He rode for the Lotto team for five years. He also spent one year with the Vlaanderen 2002 team. During his early career, he won stages in races like the Tour du Limousin and the Tour of Britain.
After six years as a professional cyclist, Serge decided to take a break from the sport. He worked as a roofer for a few years. But in 2000, he made an amazing comeback to cycling, joining the Lotto team again.
Big Wins and Retirement
His return to cycling was very successful. In 2001, he achieved his biggest victory: winning a stage in the famous Tour de France. This was a huge moment in his career.
In 2005, Serge continued his winning streak. He won two stages in the Vuelta a Andalucía race. That same year, he also became the Belgian national cycling champion. This meant he was the best road cyclist in Belgium!
For his last two years as a professional, in 2006 and 2007, Baguet rode for another major Belgian team, Quick Step-Innergetic. He officially retired from professional cycling at the end of the 2007 season.
A Life Remembered
Serge Baguet passed away on February 9, 2017. He had been battling colon cancer for two years before his death.
