The ServiceSource Tower is a tall office building in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It has also been known as the SunTrust Building and the 4th and Church Building. This building stands 20 stories high and reaches about 292 feet (89 meters) into the sky. It is the 20th tallest building in Nashville.

Building History: How Old Is It?

This building was finished in 1968. It was first built to be the main office for a company called Third National Corporation. The building was designed by a group of architects named Brush, Hutchison, & Gwinn.

What Was It Called Before?

For many years, the building was known as the Third National Bank Building. In 1995, a company called SunTrust took over Third National Corporation. After that, the building's name changed to the SunTrust Building. In July 2012, new signs for ServiceSource were put up, and it became the ServiceSource Tower.

How Tall Was It When It Opened?

When the ServiceSource Tower first opened in 1967, it was one of the tallest buildings in Nashville. It was the second tallest, only shorter than the L&C Tower, which was 409 feet tall and had 30 stories.

What Was Here Before the Tower?

The spot where the ServiceSource Tower now stands has a long history. From 1859, it was home to the famous Maxwell House Hotel. Sadly, the hotel was completely destroyed by a fire on Christmas Day in 1961.

Who Works in the Tower Today?

Many different businesses have had offices in the ServiceSource Tower over the years.

Past Companies in the Building

The first main company in the building was Third National Corporation. Later, it became part of SunTrust. SunTrust eventually moved its offices to a different building called SunTrust Plaza. Another interesting past tenant was the sales office for a planned building called Signature Tower.

Current Businesses in the Tower

Today, the building is still a busy place for businesses. J.P. Morgan Chase has planned to open a branch here. A very popular place in the building is the Nashville City Club. This club is located on the 20th floor, which is the very top floor!
