The Upstairs Downstairs Bears is a fun Canadian animated series about a group of teddy bears. These special bears live in a big, old house from the Edwardian period, which was a time long ago, around the early 1900s. The show was created by Carol Lawson. It was made by Cinar, Egmont Imagination, and Scottish Television Enterprises. The idea for the show came from a grown-up TV drama called Upstairs, Downstairs. This animated show first aired on Teletoon in Canada on September 3, 2001.
Meet the Bears and Their Home
The series follows a group of teddy bears who live in a grand Edwardian house. This means the house looks like homes from the early 1900s, with lots of fancy details. Some bears live "upstairs" and act like the owners of the house. Other bears live "downstairs" and act like the staff who help run the house.
Inspired by a Classic Show
The show's name and idea come from a famous British TV drama called Upstairs, Downstairs. That show was about a human family and their servants living in a large house in London. The Upstairs Downstairs Bears takes this idea and makes it kid-friendly with cute teddy bears. It shows how different bears live and work together in the same house.
