Toni Tone was born in Nigeria. She grew up in Oxford, England, and considers it her home. She went to Brunel University in London. There, she earned a degree in Communications and Media.
Toni Tone's Career Journey
Toni Tone worked many different jobs. One of her roles was managing student messages at the University of Oxford. During her time at the university, she went through a tough breakup. She started sharing her thoughts about life, love, and relationships on Twitter. Her tweets often became very popular, and she quickly gained many followers.
In 2019, Toni Tone became an ambassador for the Young Women's Trust. This charity helps young women in the United Kingdom achieve fairness in their finances.
In February 2021, Toni Tone started hosting a podcast called Money Moves. It was on BBC Radio 1Xtra. This eight-part podcast helped young people learn how to manage their money and feel confident about their finances.
Because of her popular writing on Twitter, a publishing company called HarperCollins asked Toni Tone to write a book. She signed a deal for her first book with 4th Estate, which is part of HarperCollins.
In 2021, she was part of the show Highlife on Channel 4. This show was about British West Africans. She appeared on the show with her brother Tazer and her sister-in-law Kamille.
