The Abdim's stork (Ciconia abdimii), also called the white-bellied stork, is a type of stork. These birds are known for their unique looks and where they live.

Description
The Abdim's stork is a mostly black bird. It has grey legs with bright red knees and feet. Its bill is grey, and its belly is white. During the breeding season, its face becomes even more colorful! It has red skin in front of its eyes and blue skin near its bill. This stork is the smallest of all stork species. It usually grows to about 73 centimeters (29 inches) long. It weighs just over 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds), which is quite light for a stork!
Distribution
You can find the Abdim's stork living in open areas across East Africa. They live in many countries, from Ethiopia all the way down to South Africa. Sometimes, these storks have escaped or been set free in Florida, USA. However, there's no proof that they are having babies there. The Abdim's stork is currently listed as "Least Concern" by the IUCN Red List. This means that, for now, there are plenty of them, and they are not considered to be in danger of disappearing.
