The Bras de la Rivière Saint-Denis is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It's like a branch, or "arm" (bras in French), of the Saint-Denis River. This river eventually flows into the bigger Kamouraska River. The Kamouraska River then joins the mighty St. Lawrence River.

This river flows through the Côte-du-Sud region. You can find it in the towns of Mont-Carmel and Saint-Gabriel-Lalemant. These towns are part of the Kamouraska Regional County Municipality in Quebec, Canada.

Where Does the River Start and Go?

The Bras de la Rivière Saint-Denis begins its journey in a lake called Lac des Marais. This lake is about 0.8 kilometers long and sits high up at 390 meters. It's located in the town of Mont-Carmel. From there, the river generally flows towards the north-west.

The source of the river is deep within the Notre Dame Mountains. It's about 21.9 kilometers east of the St. Lawrence River's south coast. It's also 14.6 kilometers south-east of the village of Saint-Gabriel-Lalemant.

From its start, the Bras de la Rivière Saint-Denis flows for about 11.8 kilometers. It travels entirely through a forest area. Here's how its journey is divided:

  • For 2.4 kilometers, it flows west in Mont-Carmel. It passes under a Canadian National railway bridge.
  • Then, for 2.6 kilometers, it flows north. It reaches Davidson Lake, which is about 0.6 kilometers long. The river flows right through this lake. There's a marshy area next to the west side of the lake.
  • Next, it flows west for 2.5 kilometers until it reaches a forest road.
  • After that, it continues westward for 1.9 kilometers. This takes it to the southern border of the town of Saint-Gabriel-Lalemant.
  • Finally, it flows north for 2.4 kilometers until it joins the Saint-Denis River.

This meeting point, or "confluence," is about 6.5 kilometers southwest of the village of Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska. It's also 10.1 kilometers east of Saint-Gabriel-de-Kamouraska. And it's 6.0 kilometers southeast of the village of Mont-Carmel.
