Brickey's or Brickeys is a small place in Missouri, United States. It is an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger county area.

Brickey's is located in Jackson Township, within Sainte Genevieve County. It sits about 11 miles northwest of the town of Ste. Genevieve, right by the famous Mississippi River.

The Story of Brickeys

How Brickeys Got Its Name

Brickey's was named after a man named John Brickey. He was an important person in the area a long time ago. John Brickey owned a grist mill here. A grist mill is a place where grain, like corn or wheat, is ground into flour. People would bring their crops to him to be milled.

He also ran a riverboat landing on the Mississippi River. This was a spot where boats could stop to load and unload goods and passengers. Because of his mill and the busy landing, the place was first known as Brickey's Landing.

The Old Post Office

For many years, Brickeys had its own post office. It first opened in 1906. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for a long time, but it eventually closed in 1953.
