Charles Howard created the very first "Choward's Violet" mint there. It was a candy mint with a lovely floral taste. After that, he made a purple gum tablet called "Choward's Scented Gum." Over time, the company grew. They added more flavors like Peppermints, Spearmints, and Lemon Mints to their candy line.
