Chiltiupán is a small town, also called a municipality, in El Salvador. It's located in the La Libertad area, about 55 kilometers (about 34 miles) southwest of San Salvador, which is the capital city. About 25,000 people live in Chiltiupán, spread across 29 different areas called cantons.

Life in Chiltiupán has seen some challenges. For example, the Santo Domingo School was badly damaged by earthquakes in 2001. But a new school was built with help from Aid to International Development. Today, 950 children attend classes there. However, about 40% of these children still need extra help to be able to go to school.

Since 1964, a group called the Cleveland Latin American Mission Team (CLAM) has been helping people in El Salvador. This team includes priests, sisters, and other helpers from the Diocese of Cleveland. They work in four different regions, including Chiltiupán, to support communities that need it most.
