Cristóbal de León (died 1729) was a Spanish painter who lived and worked near Seville, a famous city in Spain. He was a student of a well-known artist named Juan Valdes Leal.
The Life of a Painter
Cristóbal de León was known for painting many portraits, especially for religious places. He created eighteen portraits for monasteries, which are buildings where monks or nuns live. He also painted several artworks for the church of San Felipe Neri in Seville.
He is thought to be the brother of another painter, Felipe de León. Cristóbal de León passed away in Seville in 1729.
