De'Adre Danielle Aziza (born June 14, 1977) is an American actress and singer. She is known for her work in both plays and TV shows.
Early Life and Learning
De'Adre Aziza was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. Her mother, Donna Avery, was a professor and expert in textiles.
De'Adre loved the arts from a young age. She studied at the Harlem School of the Arts for eleven years. She also spent five years learning at the Dance Theater of Harlem. Later, she went to New York University and graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts.
Her Acting Career
De'Adre Aziza has performed in many plays and shows. She was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in the musical Passing Strange. A Tony Award is a very important award for plays on Broadway. In this musical, she played three different characters: Edwina Williams, Marianna, and Sudabey.
She also appeared on Broadway in another musical called Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
