Elena Martín Gimeno (born 1992) is a talented Spanish actress and filmmaker from Catalonia. She is known for both acting in and directing movies and TV shows.

Biography

Elena Martín Gimeno was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1992. She studied how to make movies and TV shows at Pompeu Fabra University.

Elena first became known for acting as Àgata in the 2016 film Les amigues de l'Àgata [es]. After that, she directed her very first movie, a drama called Júlia ist, in 2017. She also helped write this movie and starred in it herself! For her work on Júlia ist, she won the Best Director Award at the Málaga Film Festival.

Later, Elena directed some episodes of the TV show Perfect Life. She also directed an episode for a series called En casa. Elena even helped write the popular show Veneno, where she had a small, quick role.

She then started working on her second movie, Creatura. This film was shown at the famous Cannes Film Festival in 2023. Elena was also nominated for a Goya Award for Best Director for Creatura. This is a very important award in Spain, like an Oscar! The movie was also chosen as the final film for a special festival in the US that shows European films.
