Foster's is a full strength Australian beer. It was first brewed by the brothers, W.M. Foster and R.R. Foster, in 1887. It is a European style lager, with 4.9% alcohol. More than 100 million cases of Foster's Lager are sold around the world each year, which makes it Australia's biggest selling beer. It is brewed in nine countries using 20 breweries. While known overseas as a classic Australian beer, it is far less common in Australia than other beers such as Victoria Bitter and XXXX Gold.
