Frosty (frozen dairy dessert) facts for kids
The Frosty is a super popular frozen dessert that you can find at Wendy's restaurants. It's like a mix between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream, making it thick and creamy.
The Famous Frosty
A Unique Taste
When the Frosty first came out, it only had one flavor: a special light chocolate. This wasn't just plain chocolate! Dave Thomas, who started Wendy's, mixed chocolate and vanilla together. He thought that a strong, pure chocolate flavor might be too much when people were also eating Wendy's famous hamburgers. He wanted the Frosty to go well with the burgers, not overpower them.
New Flavors Arrive
For many years, the light chocolate was the only Frosty flavor available. But lots of customers kept asking for a vanilla option. So, in August 2006, Wendy's finally introduced a vanilla Frosty. Now, you can usually choose between the classic chocolate-vanilla mix or a creamy vanilla.
