Gabriele d'Annunzio (Pescara 12 March 1863 - Gardone Riviera 1 March 1938) was a famous Italian writer, poet, and journalist. He also wrote plays for the theater. People often called him "Il Vate" (The Poet) and "Il Profeta" (The Prophet) because of his powerful words. He was known for his unique writing style, which was part of a movement called Decadentism.
