Starting His Hockey Journey
Gert Blomé began his professional ice hockey career in 1956. He joined a team called Gävle IK. In his very first year with the team, they won a big national title. This showed everyone how skilled he was from the start.
Moving to a New Team
In 1961, Gert decided to move to a different team. He joined Västra Frölunda IF. He played with this team for a long time, until 1972. In 1965, he helped Västra Frölunda IF win another Swedish championship. This was a big achievement for him and his team.

Playing in the Olympics
He competed in the Winter Olympics twice. In 1960, he played in the Olympics held in Squaw Valley, USA. His team finished in fifth place.
