Goygol Rayon facts for kids
Goygol is a beautiful district, also known as a raion, located in the northwestern part of Azerbaijan. It was once called Khanlar. On April 25, 2008, its name was officially changed to Goygol. This new name comes from the famous Lake Goygol, a stunning natural lake found in the area. The main city and capital of the district is also named Goygol.
About Goygol
Goygol district is home to about 54,000 people. The largest town in the district is the city of Goygol itself. Another important town is Hajimelik.
