The Helen DeVos Children's Hospital (HDCH) is a special hospital just for kids. It's in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. This hospital has 241 beds and focuses only on caring for young people.

It works with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. The hospital is also part of the Corewell Health system. It's the only children's hospital in that entire health system.

HDCH helps babies, children, teens, and young adults up to 18 years old. They offer many different types of care for kids. This includes a special Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. This means they are ready to help kids with very serious injuries. They also have special units for babies and children who need intensive care. The hospital is named after Helen DeVos, who was a big supporter.

This hospital offers over 40 different medical services just for kids. These services cover many different health needs. The hospital earned a special award called "Magnet Recognition" in 2009. This award shows how good their nurses are.

The hospital's program for blood problems, cancer, and bone marrow transplants is also very strong. It won an award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. This award was for improving cancer care through research. Only a few hospitals in the U.S. received this honor.

A tall, 14-story building for the children's hospital opened on January 11, 2011. It is located at 100 Michigan St. NE in downtown Grand Rapids.

In 2008, the hospital started a program with Priority Health. It's called the Children's Healthcare Access Program. This program helps kids who are part of Medicaid get better access to doctors.
