House of Representatives of the Philippines facts for kids
The House of Representatives of the Philippines is an important part of the Philippine government. It's like one of the two main groups that make laws for the country. People often just call it Congress.
The people who work in the House of Representatives are called representatives. You might also hear them called Congressmen or Congresswomen. They are chosen by voters to serve for three years. They can be chosen again, but only for a total of three times in a row.
Most of these representatives work for a specific area, like a city or a province. These areas are called legislative districts. The Philippines has 234 of these districts.
The leader of the House of Representatives is called the Speaker.
