Description: Building in Washington Avenue Historic District on the NRHP since September 7, 1984. The historic district consisted of 8 buildings, roughly bounded by Carpenter, Washington, 10th, and Broad Streets, in the Hawthorne neighborhood of south Philadelphia. These are 1135 Washington, formerly the American Cigar Company, now a trunk rental facility and 1201 Washington, now a self-storage facility.
