Description: This drawing is from the Army Engineers' Report of Completed Works for the Nahant 155mm battery, dated December 1, 1942. The upper right-hand corner of the drawing shows a section view of a 155mm GPF gun mount. Below that are plan and section views of the small, wooden Battery Commander's (BC) station for the battery. The last portion of the drawing (on the left) relates the positions of the two guns and the BC station to the then-existing billiard house and to two geodetic markers, one from the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey and one from the U.S. Engineers. The billiard house has long since been destroyed, and field work in 2010 could not find either of the survey markers, which were likely destroyed when the area was converted to a Nike missile battery in the 1950s and heavily graded-off.
