Description: Recto. Petition of Francis Jackson and others in favor of abolition of slavery for the use of Faneuil Hall, 1842. "To the Mayor & Aldermen. Gentlemen - The undersigned legal voters in the City of Boston respectfully request that the use of Faneuil Hall be granted on Friday, January 28, 1842 at 10 o'clock A M for the purpose of holding a public meeting of those in favor of the abolition of slavery and the slave trade in the District of Columbia." Signed by Francis Jackson, Edmund Jackson, George Jackson, Thomas Dalton, Wendell Phillips, and others.
