Description: Animation of three recovery images of Jupiter's formerly lost irregular moon S/2003 J 16, taken by Christian Veillet with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope's MegaPrime CCD camera on 8 September 2010. Each image was taken approximately 12-15 minutes apart, showing the moon's motion relative to the faint background galaxies. The moving object in the center, S/2003 J 16, was identified by Jacobson et al. (2012) and Ashton et al. (2020). The raw image datasets used are 1235641p, 1235645p, and 1235650p. The moon's location on those dates were given by the Natural Satellites Data Center, and can be viewed in the Aladin Sky Atlas.
