Description: Animation of three recovery images of Jupiter's formerly lost moon S/2003 J 18 (Jupiter LV), taken with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope's MegaPrime CCD camera on 30 October 2010. Each image was taken approximately 10 minutes apart, showing the moon's motion relative to the faint background stars and galaxies. The moving object in the center, S/2003 J 16, was identified by Jacobson et al. (2012). The raw image datasets used are 1256721p, 1256724p, and 1256727p. The moon's location on those dates were given by the Natural Satellites Data Center, and can be viewed in the Aladin Sky Atlas.
