Description: red rock salt from the Khewra Salt Mine in northern Pakistan, falsely known and sold as Himalaya salt. The large piece weighs about 3.8 kilograms, all together five kg. The chemical composition of this so known "Himalayan salt" includes 95–96% sodium chloride, contaminated with 2–3% polyhalite and small amounts of ten other minerals. The pink color is due to iron oxide.
