(Slg.Nr. 197) Heraldic animals symbolized the associated countries also as a target for attacks. Since it was unusual in continental Europe, depict the struggle of man against man on posters, were replaced the soldiers of the enemy by the emblem of the country. Here the British lion is slain by an idealized German warriors in archaic clothes.
