Description: The 23rd Police Precinct Station House, at 138 West 30th Street between the Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) and Seventh Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was builtl in 1907-08 and designed by R. Thomas Short of Harde & Short. It was built to service the Tenderloin, one of the most crime-ridden areas of Manhattan at that time. It was designated a New York City landmark in 1998.
