Description: 38th Battalion (Ottawa), Canadian Expeditionary Force in Bermuda in 1915, either at the Prospect Camp Garrison Recreation Ground, or at the Saltus Grammar School athletic field. The battalion was posted to the British Army Bermuda Garrison (the second Canadian battalion to serve in Bermuda during the First World War, having relieved the Royal Canadian Regiment) in place of a regular British Army battalion (the 2nd Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment) that had proceeded to the Western Front. The battalion remained at Bermuda from 12 August, 1915, until 20 May, 1916 before proceeding to the Western Front.
