Description: 4560 California Avenue SW, Seattle, Washington, U.S., 1977. Northeast corner of the West Seattle Junction / Alaska Junction. Both of these buildings were built by West Seattle developer and banker William T. Campbell and designed by Victor W. Voorhees; the corner building in 1918 for Campbell's office and apartments and the adjacent one in 1929 as a public market. (According to the Landmarks Board, the building on the corner, the Campbell Building, was "partially built in 1911 and completed in 1920, it is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the Junction. It reflects the design of architects Clayton D. Wilson and Arthur Loveless of Wilson & Loveless, with later enhancements by architect Victor W. Vorhees.") Appears at that time of this photograph to have been a clothing store, with a Bartell drugstore next door.
