Description: BR Diagram 1/647 ‘Sturgeon A’ piped, 50 ton, bogie, 3-plank (removable as shown), rail, sleeper wagon No.DB994445 (later internal user No.061201) built by BR (Lancing) in 1960, Lot 3265 (later TOPS Code YBP). 272 were built in 1956-61 by Head-Wrightson (Thornaby) (unfitted) and BR (Lancing) (piped) as a slightly modified version of Diagram 1/645 (unfitted), also designated ‘Sturgeon A’, 394 of which were built by Head-Wrightson in 1953-55. The ‘Sturgeon A’ only had detail differences from the ‘Sturgeon’ Diagram 1/638 (unfitted), 217 of which were built by Head-Wrightson in 1951-52.
