Description: Albite, Fluorite Locality: Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan (Locality at mindat.org) Size: small cabinet, 8.5 x 6.2 x 4 cm Fluorite, Tourmaline, Albite This sensational combo specimen is absolutely unique in my experience. The color combination just leaps out at you. What you have here is a bright green fluorite crystal sitting beside a glassy, very dark green tourmaline crystal, which itself sits atop a green tourmaline of a lighter color. All sit on a bed of sparkly, bladed stark white Albite. How could you ask for anything more? One thing is for sure you will not see a specimen quite like this one again. It is just one of those unique ones that comes around once in awhile that stands out from everything else. Actually, its good upside down from whats shown, too, with the ALBITE as the focal point of interest (see bottom photo)...a rare specimen where really the accessory matrix mineral could also double AS the mineral of interest here. and the crystals are completely terminated and sparkly, way above normal albite quality.
