Description: All Saints, Greetham. The original foundations of All Saints church date from the 12th-century and parts of the north and west walls remain from that period. In the 15th-century a much larger church was built, extending to the east and west of the present building, with a tower and south aisle having been added. The tower remained until the mid 19th-century. In 1900, the church had become dilapidated. It had small wooden framed windows, two square pews and a two-decker pulpit at risk of collapse. The chancel was nothing more than a shed, without seating and overgrown with ivy. It was restored between the years 1900 and 1903 at a cost of £1,650, which was raised with a generous donation from Ms Sarah and Ms Olive Dennis of Greetham House and the remainder with the aid of a grant. The vestry was rebuilt with local greenstone quarried at Holbeck and the chancel with limestone from the Lincoln Cathedral quarries. Stone for the windows and south porch came from Northampton. The roof and screen timbers were extensively restored, but much original timberwork remains. The reredos is of Italian mosaic, comprising 4,000 pieces. Austrian oak was fashioned locally for the interior furnishing, with the exception of the pulpit cover which was built in Cheshire. The oak altar table was replaced, but the original dating from the Reformation, still remains in the church. The blocked up north door was revealed at this time. In recent times the 18th-century bell was replaced after the original fell and was damaged beyond repair.
